See that smile? That’s my “Goldilocks” smile, somewhere between, oh really? and whatever! I’m having a moment.
I have 57 poems in my WordPress draft folder. Not one of them is fit for publication! And no amount of tweaking or sprinkling them with fairy dust seems to help!
If you know me, you know I suffer from “SOS” (shiny object syndrome). My mind is rarely at rest and although I find inspiration everywhere – literally in everything – it’s exhausting! Don’t get me wrong, I’m grateful, but I need a mindfulness intervention.
Deep sigh.
Or maybe a bourbon on the rocks!
I think I’m gonna take some time off from my blog and focus on other shiny objects, like spending some time outside in the sun. Everything seems to glitter in the summer sun (see that right there? That would be a good opening line for a poem!)
I’ll be back after a bit. I’m gonna go sit out in the summer sun and see what glitters.
Hugs ~ Sue
We will miss you.

Or you could write 25 haiku before lunch time. 57 wonderful muffins in the oven? Ok, we’ll wait. One day at a time. There are those challenges, like stream of consciousness Saturday (SoCS), or one liner Wednesdays (OLW). Have a good week, Sue.

Those are great ideas, Bill. I may consider a new approach to my blog when I return. Who writes 25 haiku before lunch??? Oh, right, I did that😂

Dear Sue,
I know the feeling exactly. I have 18 poems in my draft folder and I really should delete them, but I’m still hoping for a little magic to resuscitate them.
Meditation, Nature….the bourbon sounds real good! 😀
Enjoy the glitter and the summer sun.
I hope to see you soon!
Lots of love xoxoxoxo

P.S. If you see me do a Haiku then you know I’ve lost the plot! 😉

It’s always a rough thing to go through. Hope you feel better sooner rather than later. In the meantime, enjoy the sunshine.

When I got disappointed in publishers, back then, I wrote this: “99 writers fall, 1 celebrity becomes author.” Just to calm down my emotions. Very, very much feel your pain.
