
the clouds roll in like waves upon the shore but there is no retreat the clouds hang low and heavy a cold zephyr blows yet the sky is unwavering a lone bird takes flight dark wings fluttering skyward the creature pierces the clouds and in one thunderous clap the sky cracks open and an ocean pours out

That is beautiful. I can picture it! It is one of those times that if it is warm out, you might not care too much, but you’ll be soaked by the time you get back to your car!

Thank you 😊 Yes, I was outside on our property watching the coming storm when a large bird took flight and disappeared into the clouds. The rain literally gushed out at that moment! Nature provides the best inspiration for poetry 💦
