Poetry ~ The Storm of Love

~

How long must she wait on the dock of unrequited love before she allows the sea to swallow her heart?

her tears burn as she falls into a cresting wave

so turbulent is the storm of her sorrow

she drowns in silence

Poetry ~ The Widow

she feigns a laugh before she cries

a broken heart with no goodbyes

pain and sorrow have burrowed in

her lover's eyes, a face gone dim

oh, cruel the time, tick-tock, the years

deeply etched lines channel her tears

an empty vessel, she sets course

her sails billow as winds blow north

upon life’s ocean, vast and deep

fate beckons, no time to weep

Poetry ~ A Love Affair

you greet me every morning
and every morning
you take my breath away
i can't stop staring at the
vastness of your artistry
 i breathe you in
 inhaling your earthly fragrance
have i mentioned how bewitching
early Autumn looks on you
you come alive in a color pallet
of golden hues as you sway
with the morning zephyr

i am in love with this land
brimming with wildflowers,
meadows, aspen, and pine groves
even the rocky outcroppings
add allure to the rolling hills

i will spend the rest of my days
writing love letters to you,
my new muse
this magical place I call home
